Kind of sad that all of my recent journals are just me getting tagged on memes. But hey, meme shoveling is better than shoveling nothing. Because if you were shoveling nothing, you would be a mime. And nobody likes mimes.
That metaphor made SO MUCH SENSE.

Me 'n' ~gordon1 were talking about anime and he drew me this. I liked it a lot, and seeing how it was inspired by an awesome anime (that everyone should look into if they have the chance and the desire), I touched it up a little with Gordon's permission and made it my new DA icon. Or at least, I think I made it my icon. I did all of the clicking and stuff but it didn't change. Maybe I have to ask it with a chibi face, or say "would you kindly" as I click the OK button.
This brought me to my other changeable personals on DA. There was "The Silent Hill Dragon" but that's been me pretty much since I got here, I don't want to change that. There's the ID picture that *SilentNightcrawler drew, which will also stay for ever and ever because god damn I love that picture. There's my desktop picture, but honestly my current desktop is incredibly boring looking so I could either use that as a gag picture or just leave it alone. Then there's my webcam pic, and seeing how I don't frequent Maple Story much anymore it would seem logical to change that to something. But to what? If anyone has a good idea I'm totally listening.

In terms of my art, I had the awesome idea of at the very least drawing all of my friends that I stay in touch with a birthday picture. I managed to make it for one, but I already missed two (and probably three, early happy birthday to Cit), so that's going down the tubes too. School and video games are certainly factors here, but I think I hit that wall where the best way to improve the craft is to sit down with a stack of tutorials and drawing books and just tank through them. It sounds about as appealing as hitting my funny bone with a hammer at the moment, so I'm in this strange limbo of not drawing because I want to improve, and not improving because I'm too busy/lazy/preoccupied to get to it. Catch 22. Bugger.
But at the very least I'm trying to keep up with everyone here on DA who I watch and/or care about. If I missed something cool just lemme know, chances are you drew something epic and I went and missed out on it like a newbie.

I figure that's about as much stuff that's worth talking about without the journal getting to long or angsty or something else that's dreadful, so farewell and have a nice day.

For starters, Happy Halloween to all! It's the time of year to pretend to be someone (or something) else and gorge yourself on the finest in concentrated sugars. It's good merrymaking practice for the 12/25 and is great fun too. I for one was happy to partake in the festiveness that is All Hallow's Eve. I hope the rest of you do (or did) have your own fun, in your own way.

As the existence of this post dictates, I am trying, though hopefully not in vain, to return to the world of drawing and looking at images. The looking part has, for the time being, been satisfied; all that remains is for me to creatively move the graphite drawing mechanism around. I have some success in that endeavor in the form of 2/100 of the 100 deviation challege. While it may pale in comparisson to one of the Gods of Drawing it is nontheless my latest contribution. Thankfully, between this deviation challenge and some other projects I am considering subject material shall not be an issue.
